San Francisco planners nix food truck court

San Francisco planning commissioners unanimously rejected a conditional use permit to repurpose a vacant parking lot at 18th and Valencia Streets as a food truck court with semi-permanent tables and more food offerings, according to San Francisco Eater.

Several neighbors expressed worries about potential noise. The owner of taqueria El Buen Sabor, a nearby business, was concerned that additional food businesses on the block would put him out of business.

Others were concerned about the possibility of on-site beer or wine sales in the food truck court.
