Savannah's first food truck park to open soon

Starland Yard, Savannah, Georgia's first food truck park at 2411 DeSoto Ave., a 23,300-square-foot lot with a full-service bar with 18 taps, an outdoor game area, restrooms, a rooftop deck and covered seating, is tentatively scheduled to open on Aug. 1, according to a savannahnow.com report. Plans call for a rotating schedule of food trucks Thursday and Friday nights, and all-day Saturday and Sunday.

About three dozen shipping containers were used to create additional canopies and walls out of the surplus components. Guy Davidson, one of the developers, said shipping containers offer both sustainability and recycling.
