Second Staten Island food truck festival draws weekend crowds

The second annual Food Truck Festival at Mount Loretto in Pleasant Plains, New York drew crowds over the weekend as a variety of food trucks – some coming the first time – lined the CYO-MIV field, according to silive.com

Staten Island families enjoyed fare from empanadas to Italian ices, along with listening to local bands.

Admission was $5, while kids under 10 came for free. All proceeds support the Catholic Charities of Staten Island.

Vincent M. Ignizio, chief executive officer of Catholic Charities of Staten Island, said the event's goal is to bring families together.

Trucks included: Dom Tesoriero's Mac Truck, Coney Island Pizza, Cold Stone Creamery Truck, Wandering Kitchen, I Got Balls, Hell's Kitchen Star Chef Clemenza's truck, Desi Food Truck, Kona Ice, Pompier Food Truck, Rob Burmeister's Culinary Renegade Empanada Guy, Maddaleenas Cheesecake, John's Catering, SI Sig City and Uncle Louie G's.
