Soul food truck festival planned in Austin

The Soul Food Truck Fest will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Huston-Tillotson University, 900 Chicon St. in East Austin, presented by and benefiting the Austin Revitalization Authority, according to an Austin American Statesman report.

The 15 food trucks will include former winners My Granny's Kitchen and Emoji's Grilled Cheese.

Admission at 1 p.m. is $10 and free for kids 12 and under. A judge's wristband for $40 includes 11 a.m. access, free samples from all the trucks, two free drinks and a chance to vote for the grand prize winning food truck.

The grand prize is $1,000. Tickets can be bought online in advance.
