Myrtle Beach, South Carolina lawmakers will soon consider changing the food truck regulations, according to WMBF. The city approved a pilot program one year ago that allows food trucks to operate within city limits. The plans are expected to go before the city council as soon as Tuesday.
Food trucks are presently restricted to operating within two highway commercial zones, which doesn't include Ocean Boulevard except for special events.
Food truck owners are optimistic they will have more freedom to operate in more prime locations. Drew Basilicato, owner of the Trojan Cow, said 2018 was a turning point for food trucks and the city is supportive of allowing trucks more freedom.
