South Carolina nonprofit restaurant raises money for food truck to provide free meals

The Community Café, a nonprofit organization that has been serving free meals from churches in York County, South Carolina, since 2010, has raised close to $41,500 to purchase a food truck that will deliver food to people in need, according to The Herald.

The group needs $50,000 to buy the food truck, which will be based in the Paradise neighborhood in Fort Mill and on Chestnut Street in Rock Hill. 

The cafe currently serves meals from 1:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lake Wylie Christian Assembly in Lake Wylie on Tuesdays, at Sisk Memorial Baptist Church on Thursdays, and at Lake Wylie Lutheran Church in Fort Mill on Fridays.
