The I-Team at KSDK-TV in St. Louis, Missouri followed up on three food trucks that were cited for health violations after reviewing thousands of inspection records from St. Louis, St. Louis County and St. Charles County, according to a recent report.
The first food truck, Slice of the Hill, known for their pizza, was cited by St. Louis County inspectors for soil residue throughout the truck and having no water in its hand-washing sink. When the I-Team visited the truck, they found an employee with a big bushy beard without a net on it.
The food truck sent the station a statement saying that in four years, the truck has never been cited for a violation that resulted in stopping service. The statement further noted that the truck is inspected as many as 12 times a year.
The team also visited Rolling Grill food truck, which was cited twice this summer for having a cooler too warm to stop bacteria from growing.
Nermin Bobic, owner Rolling Grill, told the news team the problems have been fixed.
Street Life Food truck was cited for ready-to-eat food items being stored on the floor and hot water too cool to kill bacteria. The news team found everything clean and in order when the truck's staff invited them onto the truck.
