Surf City, North Carolina, is reconsidering its food truck regulations following the opening of a brewery that has been allowing food trucks to operate on its premises.
Currently, the town allows food trucks at permanent businesses but not on the city streets, according to a report by WWAY TV 3.
At a town council meeting, residents expressed concerns about a potential influx of food trucks from other cities if food trucks are are permitted to operate on streets.
Some restaurant owners said they did not have an issue with food trucks operating in the city, but wanted to make sure that they would not negatively affect their own food sales.
The town council will discuss possible regulations and hold a public hearing at a future date.
