Tega Cay, South Carolina is considering relaxing regulations on food trucks. Advocates want the city to reduce the requirement that food trucks be 400 feet from any mobile vendor, zoning area or residential area to 200 feet, according to a report by WCNC Charlotte.
Nick Cauthen, a manager for planning and development, also wants the city to renew permits annually rather than every 15 days and give food trucks the option to park places overnight.
Some city leaders have expressed concerns about liability if food trucks park on city property overnight.
The city plans to have a public hearing on Oct. 16 about this issue.
