Tennessee town considers retail center featuring indoor food trucks

July 22, 2019

Plans have been presented to turn an unused Phillips 66 gas station in Farragut, Tennessee, into Admirals Landing, a food, beverage and retail center featuring a craft beer taproom, rotating indoor food trucks, an ice cream shop and retail space with two outdoor patios, according to a knoxnews.com report. There will be electrical power for the trucks to hook up to and a special vent system.

Doug Justus and Carlos Cortez, developers, were joined by architect Brian Nicholson in presenting the plan last week to the planning commission.

Food trucks are presently allowed only for special events. Bringing food trucks inside addresses concerns about safety, sanitation and parking.
