Food trucks in Lebanon, Tennessee, will be required to move every 24 hours under an ordinance recently approved by the city council, according to WKRN-TV. The ordinance also requires trucks to have self-contained power and be in a self-contained vehicle.
One council member said he has seen some food trucks stay in the same place for months.
Gary Lindsey, a customer, said he doesn’t like the rule because he likes knowing where his favorite food truck will be.
The ordinance is scheduled for a second reading in the coming weeks. The deadline for compliance is July 1, after which noncompliant food trucks face a $50 fine.
