Texas city votes to allow food trucks and trailers

The Rockwall, Texas city council voted to permit food trucks and trailers to operate in certain zoning districts under certain conditions, according to the Rockwall County Herald Banner.
The amendment allows food trucks in all non-residential zoning districts except for residential office and neighborhood services districts.
The ordinance allows food trucks and trailers in these districts providing they do the following:
- Are on an improved surface on private property where an existing business currently operates with a valid certificate of occupancy. Operation in the public right-of-way is prohibited.
- Operate between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.
- Have trash receptacles approved by the city health inspector that comply with applicable city codes. Trash cannot be stored outside.
- Provide permanent restrooms for employees within 300 feet of the vehicle. Portable restrooms facilities are not permitted.
