Texas county seeks food trucks for South Padre Island

Cameron County, Texas, officials are seeking applicants to apply for permits to bring food trucks to E.K. Atwood Park, known as Beach Access No. 5, on South Padre Island, according to the Valley Morning Star.

Four 1-year permits will be issued for trucks at the beach access site, said Joe E. Vega, county parks director. He said stationary vendors have never been allowed to operate at E.K. Atwood. 

Food truck operators who receive county permits will not be driving the beach this time, officials said. Instead, they will be assigned a designated parking space in front of the new pavilion.
