Investigators have determined that the first in a series of explosions at a new food trailer park on Chesnut street near Texas State University in San Marcos last week was caused by a propane gas leak from a food truck, according to a KFDX-TV report.

Investigators said the first explosion began last Thursday when an unknown source sparked the fuel at the Rondooley's food truck. A second explosion occurred around 6:20 a.m.when another propane tank nearby became overheated.

San Marcos Fire Chief Les Stephens said four food trucks and seven buildings were damaged.

City officials told KXAN there is no limit to the size or quantity of propane tanks allowed on food trucks, although all the tanks must be properly secured and upright.
