Texas town tests food truck ordinance

The city of Bastrop, Texas begins its food truck pilot program today, May 1, according to KVUE-TV. 

Food truck owners must have a permit and keep the trucks within 150 feet of a restroom.

Mayor Connie Schroeder said the city is anxious to see what benefits the food trucks bring to the city. Depending on the results of the pilot, the food truck ordinance could become permanent.
