Restaurant tech platform Toast has launched a mobile app and an enhanced POS experience, according to a press release.

The Toast Now mobile app allows restaurateurs the ability to run their restaurants from their mobile phones. The brand said during beta testing, app users logged on to the app three times more frequently than the average customer logged into Toast's web portal.

Toast Now offers: Increased access to information with real-time reporting; the ability to stay in touch while on the go with the app's Manager Log and optimization of kitchen flow with delivery channel control.

"We've given Toast Now to our whole company, not just operations," Jared Galbut, CEO at fast-casual brand Bodega Taqueria y Tequila, said in the release. "Teams, including human resources and marketing, have found it helpful to analyze sales and labor trends in order to better manage our business, and we all love being able to see real-time sales data and know how the business is performing as much as we do."

The Toast Now app is available on iOS and is coming soon to Android.

In addition, Toast's new POS experience is built to help restaurants operate with access to more features and controls along with intuitive screens designed to improve speed and accuracy.

Features include: Advanced Table Management; Server Item Fire, which helps servers bring the right dish out at the right time; Table Screen Enhancements; a Dark Mode to better blend with ambience and an Open View, which is designed to speed up and improve order-taking accuracy.

"We have seen great adoption of the new POS experience within our brands and are excited to have a point-of-sale partnership that provides us with new and exciting features," Michael Plate, POS manager at BBQ Holdings, which owns the Famous Daves and Urban BBQ brands, among others, said in the release.
