Tom+Chee Kennesaw wins small business award

Laura Hart of Tom+Chee Kennesaw, a restaurant that offers grilled cheese sandwiches that also has a food truck in Kennesaw, Georgia, has been named a winner of the Alignable Small Businessperson of the Year, according to the Kennesaw Patch. The contest awarded 2,400 winners from more than 1,400 communities in the U.S. and Canada.

Tom+Chee, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, credits is success to TV exposure and an investment deal on ABC's "Shark Tank" TV show, according to the company's website. In addition, the Brand Innovators Made in America Summit in 2013 named Tom+Chee one of "25 Brands to Watch," while its Grilled Cheese Donut was featured on ABC's "The Chew," Travel Channel's "Man v. Food Nation" and was named one of the nation's best new sandwiches by NBC's "Today" show.
