Union, Missouri mulls eliminating food truck fee

October 3, 2023

Union, Missouri's Park Advisory Board has removed an additional fee for food trucks to operate in city parks department events. Instead, they will have to have a small refundable deposit, according to a report by emissourian.com.

Currently, food trucks need a business license for $100 a year or $25 for a single day event, in addition to health department inspection fees. The Park Advisory Board is currently recommending having a $50 deposit as well, but the change will need final approval from the board of aldermen.

Food trucks will also need to follow other rules, including staying at least 500 feet away from an existing restaurant except during special events and properly disposing of trash and cooking oil.
