Students at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga are joining an effort to allow food trucks to serve food on city streets instead of only from private property, according to nooga.com.
Nearly 5,000 people have signed a petition supporting a change to allow food trucks to serve food on city streets.
The Student Government Association passed a resolution asking the city council to change the current rules.
Tucker McClendon, SGA government and external affairs chair, said the resolution should hold weight with the city council due to UTC's large population.
City Councilman Anthony Byrd said that he was working with McClendon to review the resolution before presenting it to the city council.
