Vegan food truck finding a solid fan base in Cali

The Planet Vegan Burgers food truck, which serves plant-based fare in Fresno, California, is finding a growing fan base.

Owner Mike McElroy loves seeing how new customers react to his burgers, according to an ABC 6 report.

"It's crazy to see their expression the first time they bite the burger," he told the news outlet. "It's like they can't believe it. They can't believe it's not real meat."

The burgers are typically Beyond Meat or Impossible products created in a gourmet approach. But the most popular items are the Galaxy Fries — a loaded plant-based item.

The food truck business was born from McElroy's quest to eat healthier three years ago.

"After I tried it, I felt great. Words can't express how I felt... It's a different lifestyle, for sure, mentally and physically. You have to try it yourself," he told the news outlet.
