Virginia city tries to loosen food truck restrictions

January 25, 2019

Food truck and brick-and-mortar restaurant owners in Virginia Beach, Virginia, agreed to eliminate background checks for food truck owners and to cut the cost of a food truck business license from $300 to $50, according to 13newsnow.com.

Councilwoman Jessica Abbott brought the two sides together at a meeting Thursday night in an effort to make food truck operations less restrictive.

The city council will vote Feb. 19 on the proposed changes.
