Virginia doughnut truck on the sales block

The owners of the Wandering Donut truck, based in Lynchburg, Virginia, have put the food truck up for sale.

The decision came about as the owners are relocating back to Lancaster, Pennsylvania after 12 years in Virginia, according to a News Advance report.

Co-owner Sallie Fisher told the news outlet she and her husband started the business to be close to their children while attending college and provide them an employment opportunity while in school.

"This business has done more than we ever expected it to — we feel really blessed," she said. "We are thankful for our Lynchburg following for making this a success for us. We have made lots of friends, we know lots of them by name and will miss seeing them each week."

The couple also own The Wandering Donut 2, which is run by an independent operator.
