Voters in Connecticut town to decide on food truck rules

July 25, 2018

Citizens of Ridgefield, Connecticut, will vote at a special town meeting tonight to decide whether food trucks can serve near breweries and wineries, according to the Ridgefield Patch. The meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the lower level conference room at Town Hall.

Existing law prohibits trucks and carts from remaining in a location for more than 15 minutes. The rule, passed in 2016, was established partly to protect competing businesses.

Exceptions were granted to Chez Lenard on Main Street and Zwack Shack on Route 7 in consideration of their longstanding service at those locations.

Nod Hill Brewery on Route 7 spearheaded the petition, which was signed by 400 people.
