Waco, Texas updates food truck ordinances

Waco, Texas, has updated food truck ordinances, which will take effect Jan. 1, 2026. With these rules, food trucks can only provide power with generators, according to a report by KXXV.

Other regulations include:

• Holding tanks and appliances must be inside the truck.
• No direct connection to city water and wastewater.
• Only two tables allowed.

Food trucks owners have largely stated that the ordinances shouldn't impact them too much. For example, Edgar Gomez, owner of Sison Tacos, said his truck already follows these standards.
