10 tips from the experts if you want to get into the food truck business

If you are seriously interested in opening a food truck, the Evansville Courier & Press offers tips  collected from industry experts on how to get started.

  1. Start with more money than you think you’ll need
  2. Have (or acquire) a great business sense
  3. Decide on a niche
  4. Be handy or know someone who can install things
  5. Don't try to go cheap on equipment
  6. Be prepared for red tape
  7. Be prepared for waste and budget for it
  8. Remember that it's not a gig or a good time, its a job
  9. Budge for a commissary kitchen, a must-have
  10. Be selective about events you participate in
