7 must haves for a food truck POS

Harbortouch, a provider of POS software and hardware, has released a list of seven must-have features to look for when selecting a food truck POS:

1.    A small footprint and ease of use: This is important since space inside the truck is limited.

2.    Reports and analytics, including detailed inventory, labor, customer and product reports.

3.    A customer loyalty program, which can complement your social media efforts and encourage customers to dine and share their experience with others.

4.    An always-on mode: a local-based or hybrid-cloud option to avoid any disruptions to your business.

5.    Adaptability: The POS should enable menu adjustments easily to accommodate stock or venue changes. It is also important to be able to adjust the sales tax when moving from one jurisdiction to another. It should also be easy to change menu prices.

6.     Online ordering: The POS system should integrate with an online ordering platform, like DoorDash, to make this process as seamless as possible.

7.    Mobile payment acceptance: This will allow customers to pay with new technologies such as Apple Pay or Android Pay, using their mobile devices.
