Abu Dhabi to study food truck rules, licensing

February 11, 2019

The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development is planning to study and evaluate food truck regulations and update its mobile van licensing process.

According to an MSN report, the study is part of the emirate's economic strategy to spur and support private business and regulate food vending businesses.

Abu Dhabi will declare a moratorium on licenses and permits while the study is undertaken,  Mohammed Munif Al Mansouri, executive director of Abu Dhabi Business Centre of the DED, said in the report.

The emirate has issued 426 mobile van and 927 Tajer Abu Dhabi mobile van class licenses within the past year, according to the report.
