Annual Taste NY food truck contest in new site during state fair event

The annual Taste NY Food Truck Competition, which has been held at Chevy Court during the annual New York State Fair, will take place this year on the fair's west end as part of the event's two-day New York Experience festival.

The contest will take place 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1 and Monday, Sept. 2, according to a report by The Citizen.

The relocation was prompted by the growth of competition and attendees, according to fair director Troy Waffner.

Last year more than 30 trucks participated, most from the upstate New York region, according to the report. The contest winners will be awarded prizes of $1,000, $500 and $250 gift cards.

Contest applications are being accepted and the deadline is July 1.
