The city of Atlanta plans to expand the city's public food truck program by providing more on-street locations for food truck operators.
City leaders, according to an Atlanta Voice report, believe the expansion will benefit local communities, boost economic opportunity and offer underserved neighborhoods greater access to freshly made food.
"The expansion of the city's public food truck program responds to food truck operators and communities seeking greater opportunities for food trucks and the benefits they bring to communities," Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms told the news outlet.
The city is also planning to reinvigorate the its public vending program, which will also increase opportunities for food entrepreneurs.
