Calgary bans food trucks in response to alleged noise, traffic complaints

July 2, 2020

The City of Calgary, in Canada, is banning two food trucks from operation in the city in response to complaints regarding noise, parking, traffic and litter at a park, around 80th Avenue N.E., where the trucks have been operating.

But the truck operators of Lahori BBQ Hut and Indian Bistro claim the shutdown move is not due to those complaints, but are more political, and related to a small group of nearby residents, according to a Yahoo report.

The city claimed it received over 40 complaints in June, as well as letters and a petition movement. The decision has no appeal option according to the report.
