Food truck operators in Chicago are getting big support to stay open and serving from the state's business affairs and consumer protection division.
The agency, according to a Chicago Tribune report, issued an email to food truck operators to remind them there are no restrictions in light of the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak which has shuttered restaurants and bars across the country.
The letter did, however, requested that operators ask customers to stay six feet apart while waiting on orders or placing orders, according to the report, as part of the social distancing initiative to stem virus expansion.
Yet, despite the state support, Chicago trucks aren't having an easy time of it, with one truck owner experiencing a huge drop in business in just one week — 20 customers Monday compared to 120 the week prior.
