Chicago restaurant launches food truck to battle COVID-19 impact

October 15, 2020

The Giant restaurant, in Logan Square, Chicago, is launching a food truck to drive more revenue in the midst of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The yellow-and-gray truck will serve pizza to falafel sandwiches, according to a Block Club report, and the owner hopes it will help support both his restaurant, called Giant as well as his Chef's Special Cocktail bar.

"We're as full as we can be, doing everything we can, and we're still hemorrhaging money," owner Jason Vincent told the news outlet. "There's no upside other than figuring out how to sell more food."

The Giant truck will roll through Chicago neighborhoods at lunchtime from Wednesday through Sunday and is available to rent for dinner or private catering events.
