Initially food trucks weren't welcome in Parkland, Florida neighborhoods. But now the city's leader is developing a strategy to welcome them.
The reversal in attitude came from consumer demand to have food turcks visit neighborhoods in light of the COVID-19 pandemic that has shuttered local restaurants and eateries, according to a Parkland Talk report.
The city has created a specific application that must be filled out by an homeowner's association official interested in having a food truck visit a community — or a resident open to having a food truck doing business in their driveway.
