An initiative called Front-Line Food Trucks, formed by the New York Food Truck Association, is providing beverages, food and snacks to New York City healthcare and medical professionals on the job battling the COVID-19 pandemic.
Two participating trucks, Empire Barbeque and Neopolitan Expressway, are serving hundreds of meals to employees at NYU Langone medical facility, according to an AMNY report. Neopolitan Express is giving out more than 500 pizzas a day.
"It's so nice of them to provide this food, you can't find a place to get a bite to eat because everything is closed and we are working so many hours to help these people," a nurse told the news outlet. "Yes, it's finally getting a bit easier, but still, we are so busy."
The Front Line Food Trucks are delivering food every day to different medical facilities in the city and is assisted by public donations. To find out more and how to help click here.
