Food truck race winners opening brick-and-mortar location

Steve Klatt and Brandon Lapp, owners of the Braised in the South food truck and winners of Season 8 of The Great Food Truck Race, are opening a physical restaurant on Johns Island in South Carolina.

The food truck has been in operation for three years before the duo applied to compete in the Food Network competition, according to a Charleston City Paper report.

The restaurant will be located at 3338 Maybank Highway and offer up barbecue and Southern fare in an order-out approach with a back patio for dining. The menu will feature items from the award-winning food truck including a pork and mac bowl.
