The Seattle Barkery, a Seattle-based food truck, offers more than just human fare. It's also serving up treats for the canine dining population and reflects a growing trend in the food truck world.
The truck's specialty, according to a USA Today report, is handmade dog treats along with banana bread and scones for canine pet owners. The feline customer isn't left out as the truck also offers chicken hearts and cod skins, according to the report.
The menu, which includes a "doggie $5 sundae," was inspired by the truck owner's rescue dog, Sherman, according to owner Dawn Ford.
"He's a very picky Pekingese mix. If he didn't like it, it was off the menu," Ford told USA Today.
The Seattle truck is just the latest truck expanding into menu options for pets. Fetch, an Alabama truck, offers up doggie ice cream and even decorated cookies. In Colorado, Winnie Lou-The Canine Company sells homemade pumpkin spice cookies and bison burger jerky. Bow-Wow Bones in Texas sells blueberry waffles, coconut chicken and kangaroo jerky.
