Food trucks settling deep into Detroit

Southwest Detroit is quickly becoming a burgeoning food truck area given the latest food truck activity in the city.

One truck is the Tacos del Barrio whose operators now have two food trucks serving the area. A second food truck brand, serving BBQ, is the Real Boss, according to an Eater Detroit report.

Christian Muñoz and son Julián Muñoz are the owners of the food truck ventures and are planning to push out another 10 food trucks, five of each brand, in the coming months.

"He wanted to get a new experience out and try fresh every day new ingredients, throw out all the 'old everything new.' We also saw that there weren't any other things but taco trucks. So we did the barbecue truck as well and that one has been a hit so far, too," Julian Muñoz told the news outlet.

The company also owns a commissary kitchen.

"We're looking to get different types of food trucks so everyone could come in. You're not feeling tacos? You could get a sandwich, or not really feeling a sandwich you get some tacos and some birria or you can get some ramen or loaded fries," Julián Muñoz told the news outlet.
