Clover Food Lab, a veggie-centric concept based in Massachusetts, is opening July 1 inside a luxury apartment — Trio — in Newtonville. Marking the chain's 13th location, the restaurant will feature Clover's first espresso bar in partnership with local George Howell Coffee Co, according to a company press release.
To celebrate the grand opening, Clover Newtonville will continue a tradition of hosting a "Pay What You Want" even July 9-10, where customers may pay anything from a penny to $100 for their meals, including chickpea fritter sandwiches, French fries with rosemary and rhubarb agua frescas. All proceeds will go to a "yet-to-be-announced nonprofit focusing on helping area teachers."
"As many of you know, once upon a time we were only a food truck — to see how far we have come in 12 years is nothing short of a dream come true," CEO and founder Ayr Muir said in the release. "On behalf of the entire Clover team, we give our warmest welcome to the 13th location of our ever-growing family. We could not be more excited that it is in Newton, home to many of our dedicated customers."
The Newtonville will feature a variety of plants, including a coffee tree, as well as updated ceiling paneling to help absorb noise. It will also have a colossal whiteboard near a community table for doodling, drawing or taking notes during lunch meetings.
