The "hot dog on a stick," a popular food item in Southern California's malls, fairs and festivals, is hitting the road in San Diego.

The company behind the food item, Hot Dog on a Stick, founded in 1946, is gearing up to launch its first food truck in San Diego by month's end, according to an Eater report.

The truck's route will include North County neighborhoods.
