A food truck drive thru in Rockford, Illinois is being embraced by local residents as hundreds poured into the parking lot of Rivets Stadium for the fare being offered on its initial opening.
Five trucks participated, according to a WREX report, and diners are able to place orders and have them delivered to their vehicles without leaving their cars. The food truck strategy is aimed at meeting social distancing guidelines and safety measures in the wake of COVID-19.
The drive thru is happening twice a week, on Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 4 to 8 p.m.
