Illinois food truck operator launching brick-and-mortar eatery

The Dirty Bird 815 food truck, in Sycamore, Illinois, is expanding its brand with a brick-and-mortar restaurant called The Dirty Bird Chicken Joint.

Owners Abby and Josh Smith will continue to operate the truck as well, according to a Daily Chronicle report, and the eatery will be located at 630 Plaza Drive.

The truck serves up fried chicken and a unique sauce and was voted one of the best trucks in DeKalb County this year, according to the report.

The restaurant aims to open by month's end with takeout and curbside pickup and offer indoor dining down the road.

"We're excited about our storefront location and want to thank everyone for their support to get us to this point," Abby Smith told the news outlet. "If we didn't have our customers, we would not be where we're at."
