Indiana food truck operators join forces for mutual support

February 12, 2019

A group of food truck operators in Lafayette, Indiana, are establishing an organization, tentatively called Tippecanoe Food Truck Association, as a way to share help, support and learning.

According to a report by The Republic, Matt Bestich, operator of The Guac Box, said the quest is about helping everyone get on the same business operation page.

He said that the group will serve as a community that operators can turn to when they need help.

"I have had roughly a dozen calls and emails come my way with people wondering how they go about starting their own mobile business, and I know I am not the only one who gets that from people, either," Bestich told the Republic. "This association is for all mobile vendors, though, not just food trucks. So, that includes booths, carts and trucks. There is a lot of research that goes into starting a business like this, and we all lean on each other for that."

The association hopes to develop a website that will show local diners where to find food trucks and to help trucks secure event business.
