Opening a food truck during a global pandemic isn't a story heard much, but it's the story for one Lake Worth Beach, Florida couple and they're proving it can be done successfully.
Rahein Jones and his wife, Patricia, launched The New Vegan food truck just about four months ago and are finding a growing audience of both vegan and non-vegan fare foodies, according to a Palm Beach Post report.
The truck is situated on farmland, at the Sons & Daughters Farm and Winery, near the Florida Turnpike. Customers order by phone or the truck's app and then arrive and have contactless service.
"When COVID came, I didn't want to touch credit cards or cash, so I started to move into the app," Jones told the news outlet
The couple also run a meal prep enterprise called Ou La La Vegan Cuisine and the menu is available from their restaurant in Delray Beach (which became take-out only due to COVID-19) or the food truck.
