Long Island resident building a food truck finder app

A Port Jefferson, Long Island man is creating a food truck finder app, called What The Truk, to help food truck fans easily locate their favorite food truck and new trucks serving residents.

Evan Tousey, the app builder, calls food trucks "gourmet restaurants on wheels," according to a Patch report.

The 31-year-old said the app will offer two versions, one for customers and one for food truck operators, and he hopes to have it available for download for both Apple and Android device users by the fall.

"I know that [the coronavirus outbreak] has been not easy, especially for customers right now, with limited dining options," Tousey told Patch. "We're hoping our app will be helpful for individuals in finding food trucks and really building that community between the food truck and the customer."
