Maryland city eases up on food truck rules

August 10, 2020

The city of Frederick, Maryland is allowing food trucks to operate longer in one spot, and in more places these days.

The Board of Aldermen has approved revamped rules for the interim, according to a Frederick News-Post report, given the ongoing coronavirus.

The revamp lets trucks serve from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in one location, compared to the previous regulation of only being allowed to serve two hours in one spot.

Trucks can also park on private property in non-residential areas with an owner's permission. Previous rules banned trucks in non-residential areas except if connected with a brewery, according to the report.

The revised rules are in effect until Oct. 31 or the end of the state of emergency issued in light of COVID-19.
