Menu add sparks big business for Phoenix food truck

May 26, 2020

Sometimes all it takes to lure a big crowd to a food truck is one simple thing.

In the case of a Phoenix food truck, Emerson Fry Bread, it happened by adding a Navajo mutton sandwich to the menu, according to a Phoenix New Times report.

Food truck operators Roxanne Wilson and Loren Emerson, who serve customers a fry bread menu from their location near the Phoenix Indian Medical Center, put the new item on the menu this month and it's luring in lots of fans.

The sandwich, which features leg of lamb browned on a grill and sliced thin, according to the report, is something Navajo people love.

"The sandwich, it brings people back to how they grew up," Emerson told the news outlet.
