Michigan town considers food truck rules

The village of Lexington, Michigan, is proposing changes to its peddler ordinance, which affects food trucks, and will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. on Oct. 21, according to a Times Herald report.
The proposed ordinance includes the following changes:
- Vendors will have to have both a business license and mobile food vending license.
- Vendors will pay fees annually for every license that expires each year on Dec. 31. Fees are $400 for vending on village property and $100 on private property. Short term fees will be $40 daily on public property and $25 on private property.
- The village will allow up to two food trucks in parts of Tierney and Lester parks, or a total of four trucks on village property or private property at a given time.
