‘Mini food trucks’ to take orders on demand in Connecticut

Uncle Willie's Smokehouse BBQ restaurant in West Haven, Connecticut, will close for good Saturday, but it marks the beginning of an expansion plan that includes putting "mini food trucks" on the road throughout Connecticut, according to the New Haven Register.

Customers will call the mini food trucks using a mobile app. The mini food trucks will then drive to homes and businesses to take orders and cook the food on-site.

The mini trucks will offer Uncle Willie's Smokehouse BBQ fare as well as food from other eateries under parent company Jake's Franchising, which includes Jake's Way Back Burgers.
