Cuban-American Jerome Babor and his wife, Megan, have opened a food truck called JJ's Cuban Kitchen, in Kernersville, North Carolina.

For Jerome Babor it's a goal he has had for many years after working at local restaurants for nearly a decade, according to a Winston-Salem Journal report.

"At one point, I looked at having a restaurant, but the timing wasn't right. And I looked at doing a food truck before the pandemic, and it didn't feel right. But last year, everything worked in the right place at the right time," Babor told the news outlet.

The couple's 18-year-old son as well as other family members are helping run the truck which can be found at local hot spots including Folly's Draft & Snack, Gypsy Road Brewing Co., Hoots Beer Co., Joymongers Beer Hall and Wise Man Brewing.

The truck's cuisine reflects the family's cooking and food history and the menu offers sandwiches, sides and one appetizer. There is also a Cuban burger on the menu.

"A lot of this is about family. It's really a family business. It's an opportunity to not just take care of my family but be with my family," Jerome Babor told the news outlet.
