Summertime is typically a bustling sales season for ice cream truck but those operating in Brunswick, Ohio are find more than a few challenges this season thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Due to the coronavirus outbreak trucks are not being allowed from operating in the city of Brunswick, according to a Cleveland19 report, due to new rules restricting business in the wake of the pandemic.

“Most of my customers are in the city of Brunswick. They have denied me permission to operate my business there due to the virus," Celeste Compola, a Brunswick resident for more two decades, told the news outlet.

She said that while the city is allowing brick-and-mortar restaurants and supermarkets to sell ice cream she isn't allowed to even deliver to customers.

But a happy ending may be in sight at she's gaining support from at least one local lawmaker and community members via social media, according to the report.
